Alcune ripetizioni dei concetti già esposti negli articoli precedenti (con una nuova "prova"), qualche dettaglio su alcune norme da lui imposte all'inizio, l'insinuazione che Jimbo abbia cominciato a accreditarsi come solo fondatore di Wikipedia nel 2004 per promuovere l'attività commerciale di Wikia, la richiesta che la WMF ristabilisca la verità storica e i giornalisti intervistino anche lui. --Nemo (discussione) 18:58, 13 apr 2009 (CEST)

Credo proprio che la data sia sbagliata. Nella cronologia si ha 3 gennaio 2002 e in ogni caso sarebbe troppo preveggente... scrivo nella rispettiva pagina di discussione per conferma. «In Wikipedia’s first three years, it was clear to everyone working on it that not only had I named the project, I came up with and promoted the idea of making a wiki encyclopedia, wrote the first policy pages and many more policy pages in the following year, led the project, and enforced many rules that are now taken for granted. I came up with a lot of stuff that is regarded as standard operating procedure. For instance, I argued that talk should go on talk pages and got people into that habit. Similarly, after meta-discussion started taking up so much of Wikipedia’s time and energy, I shepherded talk about the project to meta.wikipedia.org — and after that, to Wikipedia-L and WikiEN-L. I insisted that we were working on an encyclopedia, not on the many other things one can use a wiki for. I came up with the name “Wikipedian” and other Wikipedia jargon. I had devised a neutrality policy for Nupedia, and I elaborated it in a form that stood for several years on Wikipedia. I did a lot of explaining and evangelizing for Wikipedia [...].»

Jimmy Wales su Britannica

«Researcher's Note: Jimmy Wales’s date of birth

There is some confusion over the date of Jimmy Wales’s birth. A number of sources—including Current Biography and Who’s Who in America as well as a marriage license filed in Monroe county, Florida—give his birth date as Aug. 7, 1966. In June 2007 Mr. Wales notified Britannica that this date was incorrect. However, Mr. Wales would provide Britannica with the correct date and appropriate documentation only if it was agreed that his date of birth would not be published, which runs contrary to Britannica’s policies. Given that the majority of sources report Aug. 7, 1966, and without documentation that disproves this date, Britannica has decided to give August 7.
